Parks Second Edition is a celebration of the national parks, and the definitive, new edition of this beloved Keymaster game. Players will explore Acadia, Canyonlands, Shenandoah, Denali, Big Bend, Mesa Verde, and all the rest of these iconic, real-world locations. The definitive, ultimate edition of the beloved and award-winning National Parks board game, rebuilt from the ground up. Expanded, updated gameplay, incorporating elements from the Nightfall and Wildlife expansions, plus additional new surprises. All new art and graphic design throughout, with evocative illustrations of all 63 U.S. National Parks by Josh Emrich and Lisk Feng.
Players will take on the role of two hikers as they trek across different trails during four seasons of the year. Each trail represents one season of the year, and with each season’s passing, the trails will change and grow steadily longer. Each turn, players will send one of their hikers down the Trail.
While on the Trail, hikers will land on a site—such as seeing Mountain—and takes its action, in this case gaining a Mountain token. When a hiker is on a site, other hikers cannot visit it unless they spend their campfire to share the site. Canteens and Gear can also be used to improve your access to resources through the game.
When a hiker reaches the end of the trail they can spend tokens they’ve received from the Trail to visit Parks to earn points. Your goal is to have the most points at the end of the year.
To create this enhanced edition of the classic game Parks, we took a close look at every possible detail to ensure that every move, every action, and every step brought the excitement of the U.S. National Parks to players like never before.
We worked alongside Parks designer Henry Audubon to bring in the best ideas from the original game and expansions. You’ll find the camping module, Park cards with new bonuses and wildlife, and a comprehensive collection of the best gear, challenges, and mechanics from the five-year history of Parks (along with some new surprises).
Together, we reimagined the trail, with a new way to navigate the game board together or play solo. We stuffed the backpack with new features and bonuses to help you along the path. And for the first time ever, that path now takes you to all 63 U.S. National Parks, including sites that earned a National Park designation in the years since our first printing.
